Out of the mouths of moms...

Sometimes moms say the darndest things!

Yesterday, my son got tubes in his ears. He is fourteen months old and obviously did not understand what was going on. I tried to reason with him as they were preparing to take him to surgery. He kept saying "bye bye" which means that he clearly wants to leave where he is and go somewhere else. After fifteen minutes of him waving at me and saying "bye bye" I finally said "Jack, you can't go bye bye. They are about to take you for surgery! Why did I teach you to say bye bye? Why am I talking to you like you understand anything I am saying!?" He looked at me with a strange look on his face and then said "bye bye?" Great! My husband thought it was hilarious. I believe that I was clearly under stress...because while this was not major surgery...I was still nervous about sending my baby to the operating room!
